Welcome Back!!!!

I hope everyone enjoyed great times with their family and friends.    I would like to welcome two new students, Sadhvitha and Bhanu.  We look forward to getting to know them and work with them this year.

If you have not sent in your report card envelope, please do so by the end of this week.  It needs to be signed.

Using our imaginations to create with blocks, unifix cubes etc., is a great way to build critical thinking skills.  I really enjoyed these special turkeys.  A lot of math went into them, patterns, symmetry and measurement to name a few.

Have a wonderful week!

Thank you so much for taking the time to meet with me about your child’s progress this year.

Here are a few pictures from last week.  We had a wonderful visit from Mrs. Ogburn, our school board representative.  It was a great way to end our unit on community helpers.  She explained her job and contributions to our school and read a story about kindness and acceptance.  Many thanks to her for taking time from her schedule to read to us.

Our community helper parade was a success.  The children looked amazing and learned a lot about jobs and the tools needed to do them successfully.

Have a wonderful week!

I can’t believe it’s November!  Time flies when you’re having fun!  Here are some pictures of us having fun with math on Halloween.  We used tally marks to help us count candy in our treat bags.  We used ten frames to find out how many more bats or ghosts were needed to make 10 on our ten frames.

Important upcoming dates:

We are looking forward to our community helper parade this Friday, November 3 at 8:15.

Parent/Teacher conferences Nov. 6 and 7th.

No school for students on Tuesday, November 7.

Assembly for Veteran’s Day on Friday, Nov. 10 at 9:00.

Happy Fall!  Linda Livingston
