Group Counseling

Group counseling is important for the students because it helps them understand that they are not alone. It also opens the door to discuss topics that may be too personal to address in classroom guidance. Students can learn from their peers and learn more about the difficult situations in a safe environment with others going through similar struggles. Group counseling can help the students grow socially, academically and personally.

Small groups for students are based on student, parent, or teacher requests and will be held throughout the year. These groups run 4-6 weeks.  Letters to parents will be sent home before students are able to participate.

These groups will be on topics such as:

Friendship
Changing Families
Study Skills
Self-Esteem
Emotional Regulation
Grief/Loss
Social Skills
New Student
Other requested topics
