First I would like to thank you for all the wonderful gifts, cards, snacks, and crafts that the students gave me last week. I loved it all and it was so nice of them (and you!) to take time out of your day to think of me. I felt very appreciated : )
You will notice today that there is not a homework packet coming home. We are trying to cut down on paper usage. I talked with the kids this morning about how the word study homework expectations and test times will remain the same even though it’s not written down for them. I’ll be sure to keep the agenda sentences updated with important dates, so keep checking those.
Content for the week:
Language arts: we’re starting to review grammar skills in preparation for the reading HATS test in a few weeks. I will also be doing end of year PALS assessments to measure reading growth throughout the year.
Math: continuing our unit on measurement and introducing weight measurement. We will do a unit test next week on Tuesday the 17th.
Science: continuing our unit on life cycles with plant life cycles. Our test on animal life cycles, plant parts, and plant life cycles will be this Friday the 13th.
Field day is coming up on June 3rd, and you will find some information about it from Coach LeClair at the end of this email.
Thanks and have a great week!
Forwarded from Coach LeClair-
Good afternoon CTES families!
On Friday, June 3rd Colonial Trail will be having our Summer Heat Field Day! This is a great time for students to engage in fun and fitness! I am sending this e-mail to ask for volunteers. There are many jobs available for you to sign up for if you’d like to help out! Please specify, using sign up genius, which job you would like. I ask respectfully that if you sign up for a job you stick with that job for the entire time. I very much appreciate your help as this will be an amazing day for the students! Please use the link below to sign up for a timeslot or feel free to e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org
Thank You for volunteering to make our Field Day awesome!
