Monthly Archives: April 2016

Hello everyone!

Here are the updates for the week.

Our  field trip to Swift Creek Mill Theatre will be next Tuesday 5/3 (also the day of our night at the ballpark for the school’s reading program from a few weeks ago).  Students will not need to bring a lunch, as the destination provides one as part of the ticket cost.

Third nine weeks report cards will be coming home on Monday 5/2.  With them, there will be a printout of CogAt test results from the testing we did in February.  As you look over the information on the sheet, please keep in mind that we use these tests only to determine learning styles and preferences, and they have no bearing on grades!

Language arts: working on summarizing skills with different stories.

Math: starting a unit on measurement.  We’ll focus this week on inches, feet, and yards.  It will be beneficial for students to have access to a ruler at home.

Social studies/science:  don’t forget that the Ancient Egypt/China project is due tomorrow, and the unit test is on Wednesday.  After that, we’ll switch to science and start a unit on plant and animal life cycles.

Thanks for all your support and have a great week!
