10.26-10.30

Hello everyone!

Here are the updates for the week:

Math: we’ll do our math test on odd/even, ordinal numbers, and number/shape patterns tomorrow.  Our next unit will be on calendar skills and graphing.

Language arts: plural nouns, abc order, main idea and details

Science: the water cycle, storm review

Our first field trip information went home Friday afternoon.  Please look over the form and the attached note and let me know if you have any questions.  It’s a great trip to support some of our science curriculum!  Forms are due this Friday the 30th.  We are still waiting on our class t-shirts to arrive, hopefully they’ll come in time to wear them on the trip!

As always, thanks for your support and have a great week!

10.5-10.9

Hello everyone!

Here are the updates for the week:

Language arts: our reading skill is making predictions, and our grammar skill is continuing with types of sentences and writing complete sentences.  We’ve also started word study, so please let me know if you have any questions about what’s coming home with that.  The weekly homework packet looks a little different this week, as there is word study homework every night and additional sheets that are optional to turn in on Friday.

Math: we’ve started a unit on ordinal numbers, patterns, and even/odd numbers

Social studies: we’re continuing with our geography unit.   We’ll have a test Friday which will include map skills, important places on the United States map, and knowledge of continents and oceans.

Interims will go home tomorrow, please sign them and return them as soon as possible!

Next Monday, 10/12 is a student holiday.

Thanks for all your support and have a great week!
