We are very excited for our field trip to Meadow Farm on Wednesday, November 7. Mrs. Aquilo and Mrs. Neilson will be chaperoning the trip with us. Thank you to all the parents who volunteered, we had 10 parents respond that they were interested in joining us! Please remember if you are planning on meeting us out there you MUST notify me before and you MUST have your volunteer application turned in to the school. New applications must be submitted every year.
I am looking forward to conference night next Monday, November 5. Please let me know ASAP if you need to reschedule.
The children will be free to exchange their library books as soon as they finish reading them from now on. If your child would like to exchange his/her books, they can go during PIE time each morning.
I know the children are excited for Wednesday night. Please remind then when packing lunches and snacks that candy is not a snack for snack time. They are welcome to enjoy some candy at lunch, but they need a snack for snack time.
Here is what we are up to in room 9 –
LA – We are focusing on blends over the next two weeks. We will start with r blends (ex. br, dr, gr, cr, fr, pr, tr, wr), move on to l blends (bl, cl, fl, gl, pl, sl,) and then finish up with s blends (sc, sk, sl, sm, sn, sp, st, sw). In the area of writing we are focusing on asking verse telling sentences.
Math – Mrs. Galloway began her unit on number recognition and counting today with many fun activities. The kids will focus on recognizing number to 110, counting numbers to 110, writing numbers correctly to 30, and counting backwards from 20. They will also practice skip counting by 2s, 5s, and 10s.
Social Studies – This week the kids will learn about being citizens of the US and voting.
Have a great evening!
