Dear Parents,

Happy Monday! I hope your child is enjoying 4th grade as much as I am enjoying having them in class. We have the best group—they are hard workers and very eager to learn. As we begin week 2, we are getting into more of a routine and schedule. 4th grade is faster paced and students are expected to work a little more independently. To work on this, this nine weeks I will be checking each students’ agenda in the morning to ensure all notes/HW is copied correctly.

This week we are focusing on:

Reading/Writing: summarizing a reading passage, editing for mistakes, main idea, and details of a story

Math: graphing

Virginia Studies: bordering states and regions of Virginia

We will have Reading and Math homework nightly (M-Th) beginning today.

If you have not already, please send in $8 to purchase a subscription to our VS Weekly newspaper. It is a wonderful resource and the students really enjoy using it. Please let me know if there are any concerns with this purchase.

Dates to Save:

Nov. 19th—Field Trip to Jamestown

February 1st-Field Trip to St. John’s Church

If you have any forms to return that were sent in the blue CUB folder from open house, please return them as soon as possible.

Tomorrow, the blue Tuesday folders will be coming home.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you for sharing your children with me every day!
