New cohorts consist of up to 75 students who have demonstrated the greatest potential for success based on the following criteria:
- Algebra I in middle school with a minimum grade of 2.75 for MP 1 and final grade
- Minimum 2.75 GPA from English, social studies, science, math, and language (if taken) in both 7th and 8th grade (NOTE: students in ACA must maintain a 3.0 GPA)
- Results of math and reading tests taken at school
- Evaluation of mechanics and substance of writing test done at school
- Evaluation of written or video response to ACA prompt.
- Strength of 2 recommendations; 3rd recommendation optional
- Attendance to school (please note unusual circumstances)
- Recommendation of the selection committee
