The Colonial Trail school counseling department will be sponsoring the following EXCITING special events throughout the school year to enhance our student community and foster an inclusive school environment!

October is National Bullying Prevention Awareness and Prevention Month.  Students in K-2 will focus on Bucket Filling Activities and students in grades 3-5 will participate in Leadership Development/Bullying Prevention activities.

October 10th students in 2nd – 5th grades will have a chance to MIX IT UP AT LUNCH!  Students will be randomly assigned (by grade level) to tables in the cafeteria for lunch that day.  This gives students a chance to make new friends and promote an inclusive school culture!  It’s a little crazy for us adults BUT THE KIDS LOVE IT!!

The week of October 22nd – October 26  is College and Career Awareness week.  From clues provided about statewide colleges on the morning announcements (ie:  What college has a Hokie for a mascot?  VA Tech; Which college basketball team is know as the HAVOC? VCU) students will have the chance guess the correct answer and enter a raffle for fun prizes.

The week of January 28-February 1 is THE GREAT KINDNESS CHALLENGE  –  ONE school week devoted to performing as many acts of kindness as possible throughout the school, choosing from a 50 item checklist.
