I am thrilled to be part of Trevvett Elementary! Originally from Florida, my family relocated to Richmond just before my freshman year of high school. Therefore, I am proud to be a graduate of Henrico’s Godwin High School. I then went to Lee University in Tennessee to study before returning home to get married and finish my degree in Education as well as my Master’s degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. I taught 3rd grade for 8 years in Henrico County before taking a position in Richmond Public Schools as a Title I Math teacher. I then moved into a Reading First Literacy Coach position in the city of Richmond before returning to my roots in Henrico County in 2011 for a Title I Reading position at Laburnum Elementary. In 2014, I graduated from the Educational Leadership and Policies studies program at the University of Richmond. As a result, I most recently served as the Resource teacher at Laburnum Elementary before becoming a Trevvett Tiger.
I have been married to my husband, a Freeman High School graduate, for 25 years. We have 2 teenagers now! Avery is an 11th grader at Maggie Walker Governor’s School who loves learning and the arts. Miles is a 9th grader at Veritas who loves school and all things sports. I love spending time with my family as well as playing games, reading, watching movies, going to the beach, eating out (especially Mexican food), and being with friends.
