Our Kindergarten students enjoyed dressing up like community helpers this week. They even had the privilege of learning from a real live fireman, Mr. Kain. Mr. Kain is the father of 2 of our Tigers!
Parent referrals for gifted identification in grades 3, 4, and 5 will be accepted beginning October 9 and must be submitted by October 26, 2018.
Students in Kindergarten, first, and second can be referred beginning January 3 to January 18, 2019.
Submit referrals in writing (email is acceptable) to our Associate Principal, Jennifer Rhoden at firstname.lastname@example.org during the appropriate referral period. Subject line of email should state “Gifted Referral”, and the email should include student’s first and last name, grade level, teacher, and area of referral (English, Math or Both areas). An email confirmation will be sent within 48 hours. If you do not receive an email confirmation, please call the school.
Our resource team is utilizing a PAW point system this year to celebrate excellent PAW behavior during resource classes! Each month, the class who scores the most points during their resource class that month wins! The winners are celebrated on the morning announcements. Then the class has a celebration during their resource class. Here are some pictures from the Creation Stations for the art PAW point class winners:
Priceless Parenting: Collaborating with Schools for Success, a workshop for parents will be presented by Dr. Joy Lawson-Davis at Wilder Middle School on October 3, 2018 from 7:00PM-9:00PM.

Participants will learn to build and maintain achievement oriented households to include collaboration with school personnel who work with gifted and advanced students of color.

I am so excited to begin my 3rd year at Trevvett Elementary School as the Associate Principal. Trevvett is a fabulous school to be a part of.
