Busy Jaguars!

Hi everyone!  We have a lot going on around Johnson.  Here are just a few!

Pennies For Patients will run February 8-18.  We will raise money in honor of one of our students who is now in remission! All of the money raised will go to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to help children diagnosed and support their families.

5th grade parents – the parent portal for signing up your child for middle school classes is February 15-19.  I will have a Parent Work Night on Wednesday, February 17th from 3-6 in the library.  I will have Spanish interpreters and computers available.

Lessons this month are about understanding each other and working through negative feelings, making good choices, and resolving conflicts peacefully.

March 25th we will have our annual Career Day!  I’m so excited about all of the volunteers we have coming.  In the morning, students will rotate to learn about 6 careers.  Then in the afternoon, we will be having our own “Touch A Truck” where they can see a snow plow, fire truck, ambulance, police car, and more! 🙂

Happy February!

Fall Young Men in Motion

Our newest group of Young Men in Motion started practice a few weeks ago.  They are working so hard on their running and personal goals.  We can’t wait to see how they do at the Jingle Bell 5k on December 5th!  Thank you to all of our teacher sponsors and other coaches.  You’re the best!

Here is a picture from our first practice – 2 more have joined us since 🙂

Welcome back Jaguars!

Welcome back to all of our Jaguars – old and new!  I am excited to introduce Mrs. Brown as my School Counseling intern.  She will be helping around our school in classrooms, running groups, and working with students individually.  Please help me to make her feel welcome!

We are gearing up for another great year at Johnson with lots of learning and supporting our students and families!  Big Brothers Big Sisters will be returning on September 15th and Young Men in Motion will be starting in October.

5th graders, be on the lookout for International Baccalaureate information.  We will be talking about the application process in class lessons this month.

Again, it is so good to be back with our little ones and seeing all of their smiling faces.  We are going to have a wonderful year at Johnson! 🙂
