“Putting yourself in someone else’s shoes” has been our theme for November and December. We have been learning about empathy, what it is, how to show it and we learned 4 ways to know how someone else is feeling:
- look at their face
- look at their body language
- listen to their voice
- Ask them, “How are you feeling?” or “Are you okay?”
Students had trivia questions on the morning announcements and also had the opportunity to color a shoe and write ways to show empathy to go on my bulletin board in the main hallway for “putting yourself in someone else’s shoes”.
