Mix it Up Day is Friday, October 25th

Mix is up day is a celebration of making new friends.  This day goes along great with our Acceptance month.  Students will be paired up in classrooms with matching an animal face.  At lunchtime, they will sit with their matched up partner to talk with them and get to know them better.  There will be conversation popsicle sticks on the tables to help start conversations.  I will be playing music and helping with conversations from 10:30am-1:00pm tomorrow.  It will be a fun time getting to know more about our friends!

Acceptance Assembly & celebrating ourselves=a great time!

We had so much fun dancing with Nutzy the Squirrel to our theme song from The Greatest Showman, “This is Me”.  We had our 5th grade Drama Rama perform a skit about Acceptance.  Our essay winners from Mrs. Moore’s class, Sophy and Addalyn read their essay “Why I like myself”.  A big thank you to our  choreographers, Mandie and Andrea and DJ, Mr. Favale for playing tunes and teaching us our dance to “This Is Me.”

October is Bully Prevention Month. We are celebrating with learning about Acceptance

October is Bully prevention month and we’re celebrating as a school with Acceptance and an Acceptance Program.  Our theme this month is “This is Me!”  the song from the movie The Greatest Showman.   October 17th will be our Acceptance Program at 8:30am.  We will be having choreographers teach us a dance to the song along with hearing an Acceptance Skit from our 5th grade DramaRama group.  Nutzy the Squirrel will be joining us for the fun.

In addition to the program, I am teaching acceptance in the classrooms grades K-5 with our alien friend “Z” and lesson about peer relationships.
