Dab On ‘Em is our SOL test-taking strategy this school year.  Students in grades 3-5 will learn the steps for Dab On ‘Em to help better their test scores!  DramaRama students will help on the morning announcements with skits, cheerleading, “Test, Test, Baby” rap and “dabbers” through the month of April and May.  SOL testing begins on May 7th & 8th in 5th grade.

D-do read the question

A-analyze it

B-box or underline key words or phrases

O-observe all answer choices

N-never answer without reading the question again

E-eliminate obvious wrong answers

M-mark the correct answer

Hello! I am the part-time school counselor at Echo Lake this year along with full-time counselor, Julie Williams. I am from East Tennesse. I have my undergraduate degree in psychology from Mars Hill University (near Asheville, NC) and my graduate degree in counseling education from VCU. I have been in Richmond since 1999 and I have seven years experience as a school counselor. I spent one year at Longan Elementary and six years at Johnson Elementary both in Henrico County. I have three children and have been a stay-at-home mom for the past five years. My children are all elementary age; 3rd grade, 1st grade and Kindergarten and now is the time to return to what I love doing by easing in as a part-time counselor. I look forward to getting to know staff, students, and Echo Lake families. This is a wonderful school and community! I am at Echo Lake part-time. I am here full day on Tuesdays and Thursdays and half day on Fridays. I have started classroom guidance lessons in Kindergarten and Ist grade classes. We are learning how to be good students by listening carefully, always working hard and paying attention. I am the contact person for the International Baccalaureate Program at Moody Middle School for rising 5th graders. I am here for all students. I can see individual students from parent and teacher referral. I am happy to work with your child(ren).
