WE CAN FOCUS ON THE TEST!

WE CAN FOCUS ON THE TEST!

Our motto this month is “We Can FOCUS on the Tests!”

To get our 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students motivated for the SOLS, we are going to FOCUS on the test.

F-ace it (Face the teacher, face the computer)

O-rganize it (organize your speed; not too fast OR too slow)

C-onquer it (conquer negative thought and feelings)

U-nderstand it (Understand what you are reading, highlight and underline key words, see the words in your mind)

S-can it (scan over your answers, double check your test, be sure you’ve answered all questions)

Some of our 5th graders in Mrs. Nowicki’s class have been helping us out with a Test, Test Baby rap on the morning announcements to motivate our students to do his/her best on the SOL tests.

Rap video posted a little bit later.

Internet Safety Parent Workshop

Internet Safety Parent Workshop

TUESDAY, MAY 10th at 6:00pm in the Springfield Park library there will be a parent workshop on Internet Safety.

Before we know it, school will be out and for many kids that means less structured time during the day and more screen time.  Come hear First Sergeant Mitchell Smith with Virginia State Police share his presentation on what we can do to minimize the risks associated with online predators and help keep our kids safe.
