Welcome Back Gators!

Welcome Back Gators!

It has been a wonderful two weeks getting to know your little ones! We are working hard on making good choices and being responsible students! The goal is that the children will eventually be able to hold themselves accountable, as they work independently and cooperatively with their classmates! It is very important that they have a clear stake in their education, and are motivated and develop a love of learning! These first years are formative, and it is extremely important that we partner and constantly communicate the importance of a good education to our children.

The importance of reading cannot be overstated; reading is the fundamental skill on which all other learning is based. Please make sure you read the information sent home in the homework packet last week- great information on how to discuss books with your child, and research which shows the difference between a child who reads just 20 minutes a night, versus a child who hardly reads. It is eye-opening! The statistics are staggering!

If time is an issue, tuck your little one in with a bedtime story! For our first grade babies who may be reading a lot, or just a little- hearing a parent read, seeing print, and simply experiencing stories, has a huge impact on their reading ability and love of reading.
