H21 Process

School Process for Henrico 21

Discuss School Vision

After reviewing information about the Henrico 21 exhibit, school principals and Innovative Learning Coaches will discuss school vision for participating in the #LifeReadyLearning exhibit. This discussion will support the steps outlined below.

Form a Henrico 21 Team

Use your vision to form a school-based Henrico 21 team. Consider diverse representatives that support your school’s efforts. Consider Deeper Learning Teacher Leaders, leadership team members, resource teachers, coaches, students, parents, families, etc. Don’t let this become “another thing/committee”, but use it as an authentic learning opportunity and have fun!

Determine Process & Make Selection

Use your Henrico 21 team and the LifeReadyLearning toolkit to help select the learning experience your school will exhibit.

Options for school-based selection include;

  • Having the #LifeReadyLearning team review and debrief on the learning experiences, their connection to the HLP, the impact on #LifeReady learning at your school, and select.
  • Having teachers/students pitch their learning experience “Shark Tank-style”, live in front of your #LifeReadyLearning team as a panel, and select.
  • Empowering a student committee to identify the learning experience that best represents what #LifeReady learning looks like at your school
  • Holding a school exhibition (school-based Henrico 21/Innovation Fair) where students, teachers and/or your community give input on the selection
