Simple Machines are EVERYWHERE!

In science we are studying the 6 simple machines. They are the lever, wedge, pulley, screw, inclined plane, and wheel and axle. Here’s a challenge for all of you-
Look around your house and start a list of the different simple machines you see. Write them down and then post them on our blog. I can’t wait to see what you find. There are many simple machines around our school – here are few to get you thinking.

my teacher chair – wheel and axle
the slide on the playground – inclined plane
the curtains in the auditorium – pulley

Now it’s your turn…see what you can find!!!

The Word of the Week is…

This year we have been spending a lot of time talking about ways to stop bullying. One of the ways we mentioned during our class meetings is to remember to be kind to everyone. So…this week we are showing kindness to each other. What ways are you kind to others at school? How are kind at home? Once you are kind to someone they will want to be kind to you. I can’t wait to see how this will not only change our thoughts and actions in our classroom, but how this could change the world!
Have you been kind today? Let’s see how many acts of kindness we can add to our blog! 🙂
