Can you believe that Monday begins the second marking period? I am looking forward to meeting with you for Parent/Teacher conferences this week. Please arrive before your scheduled time so that I can stay on-track.
As mentioned at Back to School Night, the Homework routine will be adjusted this nine weeks. Next week (November 12th) all students in my room will be bringing home a Homework notebook along with a Choice board. They will turn in their completed choice board and notebook on Friday. Students should be choosing one “choice” a night to complete, however they can do more if they want to.
Also, for this marking period we will have a new classroom behavior incentive. Instead of weekly Lunch bunch, students that make good choices with their behavior will be earning a visit to our classroom treasure box on Fridays. If you are willing to donate to our classroom treasure box some ideas include: small non-edible objects (block erasers, stickers, bouncy balls.) Per our school policy, edible items are not permitted.
What we will be learning this week:
Language Arts– retelling stories/events in sequential order; new sight word vocabulary will be coming home, instructional reading groups, research for our animal projects
Math– skip counting by 2’s, 5’s, and 10’s. Introduction to odd/even numbers
