Hey 5th Graders!

I’m looking for a handful of students to sing a special part along with the Third Grade Classes during the Veterans’ Day Assembly. If you’re interested, please start listening and practicing the song.  We’ll have auditions in a week or so.  (I’ll announce the date ahead of time).

January Songs of the Month!!!

Hey Dolphins!

The lyrics for the January songs of the month are listed below.  I hope you will sing them with your families!

There was a farmer who had a dog and Bingo was his name –o.
And Bingo was his name-o!

Oh Senior Don Gato was a cat.
On a high red roof Don Gato sat.
He went there to read a letter, meow, meow, meow.
Where the reading light was better, meow, meow, meow.
‘Twas a love note for Don Gato!
“I adore you!” wrote the lady cat.
Who was fluffy, white, & nice & fat.
There was not a sweeter kitty, meow, meow, meow.
In the country or the city, meow, meow, meow.
And she said she’d wed Don Gato!
Oh Don Gato jumped so happily,
He fell off the roof and broke his knee.
Broke his ribs and all his whiskers, meow, meow, meow.
And his little solar plexus, meow, meow, meow.
“Ay caramba!” cried Don Gato!
Then the doctors all came on the run.
Just to see if something could be done.
And they held a consultation, meow, meow, meow.
About how to save their patient, meow, meow, meow.
How to save Senor Don Gato!
But in spite of ev’rything they tried,
Poor Senor Don Gato up and died.
Oh it wasn’t very merry, meow, meow, meow.
Going to the cemetery, meow, meow, meow.
For the ending of Don Gato!
When the funeral passed the market square,
Such a smell of fish was in the air,
Though his burial was slated, meow, meow, meow.
He became re-animated, meow, meow, meow.
He came back to life, Don Gato!

November Songs of the Month

Hey Dolphins!

Here are the lyrics to our November Songs of the Month.  I hope you and your family will sing them together during our Thanksgiving Break.  Also, remember you can leave me comments if you do or you can tell me when you come to music class.  Keep Singing!  ~ Mrs. Franklin

Five Smart Turkeys
Five smart turkeys are we!
We slept all night in a tree.
When the cook came around, we couldn’t be found.
And that’s why we’re here, you see!
Four smart turkeys we are!
We hid beneath the cook’s car.
When the car key was turned, our feathers got burned,
And smelt like a bad cigar!
Three smart turkeys we’re keen.
We hid in the washing machine.
Though we’re covered with soap, we have lots of hope.
We’re not only safe, we’re clean!
Two smart turkeys are here.
The cook is getting too near.
So we went to the zoo, and found lots to do.
We’re getting a new career!
One smart turkey am I!
To leave I just learned to fly.
When the cook went to bed, I circled his head,
And splattered him with a pie!

What Did Delaware?
What did Delaware? Oh, what did Delaware?
What did Delaware? Oh, what did Delaware?
What did Delaware? Oh, what did Delaware?
I ask you as a friend of mine.
What did Delaware?
She wore her New Jersey. She wore her New Jersey.
She wore her New Jersey. She wore her New Jersey.
She wore her New Jersey. She wore her New Jersey.
I tell you as a friend of mine.
She wore her New Jersey.
