WE ARE SO OBSERVANT! (Of the sky and more)
This morning, we logged on to EarthSky.org to learn what the bright star was by the crescent moon. We learned that it was actually the planet Venus. We also discovered something else! The author had made a mistake on the date. He said it was 2011 instead of 2012:

ExploraVision Honorable Mention!!!
Congratulations to Devin, Lauren, Kailliou and Isaiah! Their ExploraVision project was ranked in the top 10% of the country and earned an HONORABLE MENTION in the national competition! The whole school is so proud of you! Here they are with Mrs. Brinkley:
The team stayed after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays brainstorming, inventing and engineering a product called The Clothing Color Scanner for the Blind. Toshiba and the National Science Teacher Association will be sending certificates and a gift to each of the hardworking teammates. Way to go! You deserve it!!
