CFA Visual Art Students Recognized For Their Outstanding Work

Congratulations to Megan Burdette (Visual Arts Level I) who received the Award of Merit in Visual Arts at the Henrico County Council of PTAs Reflections Program Awards Ceremony!

Congratulations to Tyler Shebelski (Visual Arts Level III) whose artwork was selected for the HCPS School Board Exhibit.  Tyler was recognized for his achievement at the School Board meeting on Thursday, March 12.

Congratulations to Gracyn Gigante (Visual Arts Level II) who won the VSBA (Virginia School Board Association) Regional Contest for the high school division. Which means her work will be on display at the state superintendent’s office.

Gracyn Gigante, a sophomore at Henrico High School’s Center for the Arts, won the Virginia School Board Association (VSBA) Regional Art Contest for the high school division. The contest requested art teachers from each school in Henrico County to submit only one student’s artwork to represent that school. Gracyn’s work was submitted by her art teacher, Mary Scurlock. Students competed at the elementary, middle school, and high school levels.  All artists’ work is displayed at Henrico County Public School’s Central Office. However, having won first place in the high school division, Gracyn has the honor of having her work on display at the state superintendent office instead of Henrico’s Central Office. Gracyn was recognized at a special School Board Meeting on March 12, 2015.
