CONGRATULATIONS to Dylan Reissner (Visual Arts Level IV) for National Young Arts Award

Congratulations to Dylan Reissner, a senior in the CFA Visual Arts Level IV program, who is a winner of the prestigious and selective National YoungArts competition.

“To date, YoungArts has honored more than 17,000 young artists with over $6 million in monetary awards; facilitated

in excess of $150 million in college scholarship opportunities; and enabled its participants to work with master teachers

who are among the most distinguished artists in the world, such as Mikhail Baryshnikov, Jacques d’Amboise, Plácido Domingo,

Bill T. Jones, Quincy Jones and Martin Scorsese.”

This program; similar to the National Scholastics competition, is open to high school students from all over the country Students must submit an intensive portfolio of work that is juried by professional artists in a national forum. Out of 11,000 students who applied to YoungArts in the  fall 2013, 700 students were  chosen and awarded the opportunity to participate in the workshops in Miami and regional locations. Dylan will be attending workshops for a week in New York City.  He worked diligently in his junior year and this fall on his portfolio of wearable art (attached are two examples of pieces from his portfolio).

Genevieve Dowdy and I would like to commend and congratulate Dylan for this amazing accomplishment.
