We are ready for Spring in Room 1! But the weather is not really cooperating! Don’t forget the Spring Hat Parade is this Friday!
We are so excited that March is here and that spring will be here soon! We can’t believe how cold it will be this week. We are hoping for the warm weather to come out soon. We finished our bright rainbow (maybe it will encourage the warmer weather to come!) Thank you to everyone that sent in their gold coin with their favorite book written on it. We sure do “treasure” reading!
Help Echo Lake raise money for our school by ordering a Papa Johns pizza that will be delivered to you Thursday night by an Echo Lake Staff member! Must pre-order online by Wednesday and please wait to tip at the door! Share it with other neighbors, friends or families that live nearby! There is a classroom competition and a teacher competition! We can’t wait! www.pjrva.com/schools
If you will not be home between 5-7:30 and want to do carryout your order can still count towards our class. Go online and select carryout instead but remember to put Wildauer & Franklin in the teacher spot with your order! This would also apply to a family member that lives nearby but not in our exact delivery area. They can choose carry out and come pick it up at the Tuckernuck Papa Johns.
We had a great time celebrating Dr. Seuss’ birthday this week. Watch for all the fun Dr. Seuss activities to come home! We read lots of Dr. Seuss books, the class favorite was Green Eggs and Ham. We also wore some mix matched clothes on Friday for his birthday!
We had a great time celebrating the 100th day of School. The students had fun doing special 100 day centers. I think the favorite center was making the 100 day snack mix. They also had a great time putting 100 stickers on a 100’s chart. Take a look at our 100th day album to see all the different things we did!
We enjoyed celebrating Valentine’s Day on Wednesday in Kindergarten! We had a lot of fun decorating a big envelope to hold all of our valentines. Wow! We had so many valentines. The students had fun bringing their large envelope home and “delivering” it to their house! Happy Valentine’s Day! more valentines pictures in the Valentine album!
Look at all the Kind things we have done! What a beautiful decoration for Valentine’s Day, 100th Day and Kindness Week!
We had a great first practice Saturday for the Weekend Warriors Running Club. We are helping the students prepare for the 1 mile Kids Run on April 14th. It’s not to late to join! If you want to participate go to tinyurl.com/elesrun to sign up and then show up to one of our Saturday practices at 9:30. Also, if your child would like to participate in the Kids Challenge and keep track of their running, check out the log I sent home or download a new one at Sports Backers. We have one brave runner so far in room 1…we would love more! Great job, Runners!
Kindergarten classes will be utilizing online conference scheduling again this winter. Please visit the site below to sign up for a conference time on Thursday, February 8th. Remember these conferences are optional and we only need to meet if you feel it is necessary at this time. If you have other children at Echo Lake, please plan accordingly.
Now that it is winter, we are talking a lot about winter activities and things you see in the winter. This week we talked about winter animals. We found out that some animals hibernate all winter long and some hibernate for part of the winter. We even talked about animals that migrate or animals that have to search for food in the cold snow. One of our favorite animals we talked about were bears! We read many fun books about bears and we created a cool project. Take a look at our “cave” with our sleeping bears. Can you guess what they are dreaming of?
