Senior Destiny Jefferson finishes strong with a season best of 25:40 and coming in 25th place at the Capital District’s second meet of the season.

Senior Destiny Jefferson came in 25th place at the Capital District’s second girls’ cross country meet of the season last Wednesday at RF&P Park in Glen Allen.
Destiny was Varina’s only representative at the meet where she ran against 44 other runners from Glen Allen, Armstrong, Hanover, Henrico, Highland Springs and Lee-Davis High Schools.
Destiny ran the three mile race in 25:40, her best time this season.
Whether she will be Varina’s only representative at the next meet is uncertain, but Coach Pamela Randolph says the team is still actively recruiting.
