2017 Cardinal Fun Run

Shady Grove Elementary Schools’ Cardinal Fun Run

The 2017 Cardinal Fun Run is set for Wednesday, October 11, 2017.  Make sure to sign-up for this fantastically FUN event!  Enjoy the run, a healthy snack, and some fun at the photo booth.

How many laps can you run in 10 minutes?

Kindergarten = 4:10 PM     warm-up = 4:00 PM

1st Grade = 4:30 PM     warm-up = 4:20 PM

2nd Grade = 4:50 PM     warm-up = 4:40 PM

3rd Grade = 5:10 PM     warm-up = 5:00 PM

4th Grade = 5:30 PM     warm-up = 5:20 PM

5th Grade = 5:50 PM     warm-up = 5:40 PM

2017 Short Pump Mile & Express Run

Make sure to sign-up to participate in this years Short Pump Mile & Express Run!  Each school in the area is in a competition to see which schools can have the most students sign-up and participate.  With your help, we can earn money for Shady Groves’ P.E. program.

Welcome Back to School Cardinals!!!

Welcome back students!  Here, at Shady Grove Elementary School, we are gearing up for the 2017-2018 school year and we hope that this will be a year to remember.  It is my hope that each student creates memories and friendships that will last them a lifetime.  Who is ready to make this a great year?  I will see you in P.E. class!!

The 5th grade ‘Aquatics Safety Field Trip’ to the Tuckahoe Family YMCA has been scheduled for Wednesday, March 23, 2016.  Mrs. Ballinger’s class will go from 9:30am – 11:30am and Mrs. Schmid’s class will go from 10:30am – 12:30am.

5th Grade Parents: Please have your student pack an extra pair of dry clothes to change into and a plastic bag to place wet clothes in when finished with the activities.

Pemberton’s 2015 “WALK AT SCHOOL” Event

Pemberton Elementary Schools 2015 “Walk At School” event was a fun success!  Held on the morning of Tuesday, October 20, 2015, Pemberton students, faculty, and staff walked a course in the back of the school to encourage physically active lifestyles.  The importance of physical activity in school can be described in the following article…

2015 Sports Backers Kids Challenge

imagesThe Sports Backers Kids Challenge is a FREE incentive-based fitness program for elementary school-aged children in the metro Richmond area. The program encourages youth to run 26 miles over the course of a 10-week period. It’s a fun and easy way for teachers and parents to get kids moving!

This year, Kids Challenge participants will earn the following prizes for every five miles they run:
1. FREE bumper sticker at 5 miles
2. FREE frisbee at 10 miles

5. Kids Challenge finisher medal at 26 miles
