There will be no homework for the week of December 11th!
Interims will be distributed this week; please sign and return as soon as possible and please let me know if you have any questions about the grades.
Please remember to continue reading 15 minutes each day throughout winter break.
Winter break is December 18-January 1.
This week in language arts we will be reviewing predicting as we read lots of holiday stories and also comparing different versions of the Gingerbread Man. We have also been discussing complete vs. incomplete sentences.
We are going to be revisiting traditions in Social Studies as we learn about different winter holidays that people celebrate around the world.
In math, we are practicing our doubles facts and combos of 10 as well as subtracting. “Think addition for subtraction” when solving…if 6 + 4 = 10 then 10 – 4 = 6. We will be using related facts to help us solve addition and subtraction problems. We will also be solving word problems. Please practice math facts at home too!
Our winter “snowman” celebration is on Thursday! Thank you to those who have signed up to send in materials and volunteer. Just a reminder that you must have a volunteer application on file to attend classroom events and siblings are not able to come.
Our spirit days this week are:
Monday – Merry Monday (wear winter clothes and hat)
Tuesday – Twin Tuesday (wear the same outfit as a friend)
Wednesday – Work Out Wednesday (wear athletic clothes)
Thursday – Tacky Thursday (wear your tackiest clothes)
Friday – Festive Friday (wear winter colors or pajamas) No Slippers Please!
Happy Holidays to you and your family!
