Spring is finally here and rm. 111 is buzzing with new energy.  We have some fun things coming up.  First a change, we will go to the ARC park on April 26th not April 12th.  Little Feet Meet is May 1st.  Our 5th grade peer buddies have been joining us during PE for a few weeks now.  The kids are all so excited to participate in this fun filled, action packed day put on by the Special Olympics.  This year Little Feet Meet will take place at Tucker High School.

We had career day on April 20th and the students enjoyed going outside and learning about the firetrucks and back hoe.  Also, Curt Autry from channel 12 news visited our school and we enjoyed a fun and informative assembly.

We are looking forward to a busy, flourishing, and fun last nine weeks!!! Report cards go home April 30th

It’s hard to believe Spring Break is just 1 week away.  We will work hard this week on IEP goals and get as much practice in as possible before the break.  We have some fun things coming up…April 12th we will have our CBI to the ARC Park.  This is one of my favorite CBI’s, one because it’s usually beautiful outside and two because the park is geared towards facilitating fun and exercise acclimated to our kids abilities.  We always have a ball.

Have a great week!!!! 🙂

Greetings from Rm. 111.  We can’t believe another month is ending.  We have been working hard every day.  We made texture George Washington portraits for President’s Day and Barack Obama hand puppets for Black History Month.  The students have been engaged and making progress on all of their goals daily.  We are looking forward to some warm weather and getting our hands dirty planting some lettuce seeds soon.

Reminder: Thursday March 1st is a half day for students.

Dismissal is 11:35

We had a great Valentine’s Day!! We made sugar free vanilla pudding with red food coloring to color it pink and topped with a heart shaped strawberry.  The kids participated in measuring, pouring and mixing.  We also made flower bouquet cards by finger painting the stems and used celery stalks and paper tubes shaped in hearts stamps dipped in red paint.  This was a great activity because all of the kids were able to participate 🙂

HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!!!!

There has been a lot going on in Rm. 111.  While we all enjoyed our break and added snow days, it has been nice getting back into the swing of things.  The kids have been working very hard on IEP goals and making great strides during our weekly craft time.  This time gives the students a chance to freshen up on fine motor skills while staying in touch with their creative sides.

We recently had our CBI to Petco.  The kids were able to pet some of the small animals and loved the fish tanks.  We even came back with a classroom pet.  A Beta fish we named “Andrew” 🙂 It is great seeing the kids eyes light up watching him swim about.

Mon. Feb. 5th from 3:00-6:30 we will have parent/teacher conferences.  I will send home sign up sheets.
