Virginia Pharmacy Technician Preparation Program
(No Golden Age waiver)
This course is oriented to prepare students to successfully complete the Virginia State Pharmacy Technician exam or one of the national certification exams for Pharmacy Technicians. Topics covered include: pharmacy laws and regulations, pharmacy settings, history of pharmacy, sterile preparations, compounding, drug formulations, biopharmaceutics, and pharmacy calculations. Pharmacy calculations and math review to cover: proportions, decimals, fractions, percentages, allegations, algebra, metric conversions, metric to household conversions, temperature conversions, and formulas.
High school diploma or GED® is required at the time of Applicants must provide a copy of diploma, GED® certificate, or transcript.

Successful completion of the course requires an 85% class attendance rate and completing assignments to the satisfaction of the instructor.
