Adult Basic Education (ABE)/GED® Program

 Adult Basic Education (ABE) Classes are designed to help adults improve their skills in reading, writing, and mathematics.Classes are for adults over the age of 18 who are not currently enrolled in public school. An official school withdrawal form may be required for students recently withdrawn from high school.  Before beginning classes, students must:

  1. Register at the location they plan to attend. (Must provide a government- issued photo ID.)

  2. Take a placement test which determines the appropriate class level.

  3. Attend an orientation.

Registration and placement testing must occur for new and continuing students prior to class starting dates.

Additional Information

  • Structured, short term sessions to prepare adults for the GED® test.

  • A review of math, writing skills, and reading techniques to develop critical thinking skills for science, social studies and literature.

  • Classes meet twice weekly.

  • Tuition for first time and returning students is $25 per session*. Tuition must be paid prior to starting class.  No refunds available.

  • If an agency or business will be covering the cost of a student’s tuition and fees, the student must bring documentation on the agency or business letterhead giving the Adult Education Center permission to bill them. Otherwise, the student will be responsible for paying his/her tuition and fees.
