Lesson Summary

Students researched the regions of the United States and retrieved information of each state that is rich in history or significance. After researching and note taking, students researched the game of Monopoly and found out the dimensions and pieces of this game. Students were placed in groups in accordance to the 5 regions being studied. Students established roles within their groups in order to complete the task which is to build their own Monopoly game called Stateopoly. Each group built the property cards, chance cards, community chest cards, center of the board design, money, and playing pieces. The playing pieces and dice were created using the Tinkercad program and 3D printer. The other items were built upon a Pixie2 template and Word Document template provided to them. The board designs were hand drawn or an art program was used.
