On Connecticut Avenue in Washington D.C there was a fountain that was crowded with people throwing coins into the fountain filled with freezing water. Coins were scattered across the pavement so they were easy to find. People even climbed onto the red ladder which was placed next to it and flipped pennies into it. Every time a coin gets thrown in, it ripples on the water and you can see it sinking to the bottom of the fountain. Because of the major popularity of Washington D.C, Families from all over the world go to these streets and throw coins in.
